First of all, I'm not an electrician nor do I work in construction. Just the average howeowner with some handyperson skills. Even I was able to install this box. My house is already hardwired with under cabinet lighting that are nearly 17yrs old, but my existing junction boxes were not compatible with the Dals 6000 series lightbars. Therefore, I had to buy this box to install it. It comes with 2 cords to connect to the 6000-series lightbars. That's not stated on this website, but it does say so on Dals Lighting's own website. It has identical ports on two sides to give flexibility for mounting. Instead of twisting marettes to connect the junction box to the house's 14-2 wiring, this box uses those push coinnectors. Those were new to me, but not hard to figure out. One thing I didn't like is the cable relief connector that it comes with. I prefer the old style metal ones with a screw to clamp the wire down to secure it.
